OMG.
It's so hot in Hong Kong even without the 100000000 billion stairs I'm sweating like a pig. Dorm rooms are tiny + dirty... but we do have a 7-11 downstairs! w00t!
Being at MIT for the past 3 years has really spoiled me. I think I've come to adopt this mentality that if I need help with any school related things someone (ie: Rene Caso the department of architecture administrator) will be there to 100% hold my hand/help me through every little detail. The perks of being at a small private school in a tiny department I guess.
Walking into the architecture headquarters at HKU was not so pleasant. Luckily Joanna had already done the whole registration thing (which took her 3 days!) so she knew exactly what I needed to do. The lady at the reception desk (who looked mid 20s) didn't even speak English + semi yelled at us because we came 5 minutes before 2 and their lunch break was till 2pm. There is no one here to advise us on what classes we can take or even give us a tour of the architecture department here. I don't know if it's the Cantonese but I feel like I'm constantly being yelled at here... Hopefully once the semester starts it will get better.
I think I'm in the homesick phase. I miss MIT.
