week one...

I've officially been here in Hong Kong for more than one week and I am also unjetlagged. yay.

The left side of the room is mine... small + dusty, but getting used to it!!!

Studio culture here is really different than MIT. Since everyone in the entire year has to pretty much take the same classes every year for all three years (they do a 3 year undergrad + 1 year work + 2 year grad at HKU) in a class of 70-80 people, it feels sort of like high school again? Where everyone knows each other but then there are the little cliques that break up the different groups of people. They also do really random things in studio like this:

Yes, this is a picture of Joanna dressed up in a paper costume.
Next weekend is ARCHINIGHT which is an event for the entire architecture department and every class presents posters and videos of some sort so our year's theme is "kindergarden" ??

We went to Southern China for a day trip on Friday to visit a Fiberglass factory. It was really close to Hong Kong ( only 1.5 hr ferry ride ) so everything still felt very similar to Hong Kong.

Ok, will post more pictures later. computer + internet connection is being evil.
