bad taste in my mouth

so i visited the fellowship night at church today and had a rather nasty experience. The praise was good, the speaker was pretty good... so I decided to be uncharacteristically friendly and introduced myself to a bunch of new people. In the beginning it was pretty great, i met some other exchange students, talked to some locals, just chit chat. nothing of great substance, but i mean i wasn't expecting anything more.

and then. dun dun dun. starting talking to some guy from colorado. he was talking to a canadian girl about the upcoming election and she was asking him his thoughts on what was going on in american politics. so basically, he goes off on a rampage. pretty much saying every possible negative thing about liberals that he can possibly say. I guess that wasn't so bad, but when he asked who I was going to vote for, the coversation turned sour. It pretty much ended up with him telling me why my beliefs are stupid and unbiblical. i was seriously seriously offended.

maybe i get offended too easily. maybe i shouldn't judge this group based on this one guy. but if this is what one of the "leaders" of the church is going to say to me RIGHT AFTER a sermon about being a family of God and caring for your brothers and sisters i don't know if this is the place for me. now i have a really bad taste in my mouth and i can't get it out.
